Our Founders

Motivated by the challenges they faced during Covid-19, Zachary Bailey and Fiona Symons aimed to transform communication for aged care residents. Their creation, CareWindow, is an iPad-sized video calling device designed for those with cognitive and mobility issues.

When their father Martin was placed in aged care, they struggled to keep him connected due to restrictions and his inability to use traditional devices. Sensory and mobility challenges made phones and tablets unsuitable.

“Dad was a smart guy, he was an IT guy by trade - he was the guy who taught me programming, but it got to a stage when he couldn’t work his mobile phone anymore, couldn’t work his TV remote,” Zac said.

Zac, a software engineer, and Fiona, a registered nurse, developed a device with no touch requirements, remotely operated by family. It simplifies communication without apps or menus, akin to a dementia clock.

Now CareWindow is available to anyone who would love to spend more time with their loved ones who live in aged care or disability care settings.
